Saudi Gaming Market Growth to Contribute $13.3 Billion by 2030

Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a serious contender in the global gaming and esports economy, with forecasts suggesting the sector could contribute $13.3 billion to national GDP by 2030. The growth is underpinned by a state-led strategy aimed at diversifying the economy and capitalising on the Kingdom’s digitally native population.

Qiddiya City’s Gaming District Targets 10 Million Annual Visits

Qiddiya City is poised to become the beating heart of Saudi Arabia’s gaming ambitions. The newly announced Gaming & Esports District will span over 500,000 square meters and feature four state-of-the-art esports venues with a combined seating capacity of 73,000. One of these will house the world’s largest indoor LED screen and rank among the top three esports arenas globally. Designed to host year-round tournaments, the district aims to attract up to 10 million visits annually, positioning itself as a magnet for global esports tourism.

Beyond its competitive infrastructure, Qiddiya is building a full-spectrum lifestyle ecosystem for gamers. The district will include gaming-themed apartments, hotels, and over 100,000 square meters of retail, dining, and entertainment venues. Up to 25 elite esports clubs will be able to live, train, and compete on-site, supported by cutting-edge facilities and immersive environments. Additionally, more than 30 leading video game companies are expected to establish their regional headquarters within Qiddiya, making it not just a venue—but a living, breathing hub for innovation, talent development, and industry leadership. This integrated approach reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to embedding gaming into the cultural and economic fabric of the nation.
